Fall Leaves and Apple Trees was written in loving memory of my mentor Fred Sturm. The piece features a rubato intro, a fast swinging melody, a new orleans section, solos by all four trumpet players, and a guitar solo. There is also an emotional solo soprano saxophone ending.
